Luvmybox Review! CAUTION: XXX RATED!

Contents of my box!

Hello friends!

This is a review, as promised, of the Luvmybox subscription! Luvmybox.com is an online subscription company that offers adult friendly toys, gadgets, and products every month for $30!

My box included:
-1 Screaming O Penis ring
-1 box of Wet Together Couple's Lubricant
-1 pack of Oral sex dice
-2 Swipes intimate wipes
-1 package of breath mints
-1 Oral Delight Gel

Box costs: $34.95
Box contents estimated to a total of: $48.43!!

Packaging: The box of goodies comes in a black unlabled, unmarked, un-logo-ed box. The black box is then put into another box with your mailing slip taped to it. Keep in mind, the label does not mention anything sex or adult related for your convenience and privacy. It only has your name and address, no return address. PERFECT for those who are shy or don't want neighbors/relatives/housemates to know their business!

PROS: All contents are full sized products, not sample sized. Range of products is awesome-- you won't get a bunch of the same stuff. Makes a great gift for newlyweds, bachelor/bachelorette parties, or those looking to spice things up in the bedroom.

CONS: This is my first box, but I have seen reviews of other boxes and it seems to me that the past boxes fall way below the quality of this box does. Im not sure if future boxes will be this good or go back to the old run of the mill style.

Overall, I think this is a fun gift to try out for a good price!

SPECIALS!
Please check out their site HERE; there will be two special holiday boxes  made for "Him" and "Her" available for only $20 each!

AND there will also be a new referral/rewards feature available to get even more out of your membership!

Night Owl Paper Goods

My lovely paper goods!
Hello friends! We are getting close to the holiday season and I thought it would be the perfect time to share a product review with all of you!

Night Owl Paper Goods was kind enough to send me a couple of samples of their Holiday greeting cards and a beautiful journal with a peacock on the front cover.

The greeting cards are printed on WOOD! They're a thin gorgeous ply-wood material; similar to tongue depressors, and are bright and vivid. Visit their site to customize your own greeting cards with your holiday photos!

The journal was my favorite part of the package; it is also made from the same wood material and is just the right size to fit in a purse. Jot down your thoughts, shopping lists, & reminders.

From a very young age I began journaling and now that I'm engaged and soon to be married, I feel journaling is even more important!

Night Owl Paper Goods has tons of gifts to choose from including stationary, calendars, notebooks, greeting and note cards, organizers, etc. These all have bright and beautiful art and images like the peacock I received as well as owls (of course!), foxes, whales, and other fun animals!

Please be sure to support their site and shop HERE. Happy start to your holiday season!

June 2012 Favorites!

Hi there friends! This is my second favorites video, and I'm starting to really like filming these types of videos over any other type! I'm glad I decided to start sharing my favorites!

Any-hoo, Here is what I have been loving, what are your June favorites??

1. Natural Radiance Wrinkle Reducer patches
-Not sure if these are actually work, because I don't have any wrinkles yet, but they are very cooling and calming on the eyes! Rid of dark circles over night.

2. MakeUpForEver Aqua Smoky Lash mascara
-The DRIEST mascara formula I have ever come across! Perfect for my short and sparse lashes, just wish it had a different price tag! LOL

3. Loreal Magic Souffle Smooth foundation
-The WEIRDEST foundation I have ever used. Looks like a cream, feels like a mousse, but dries to a powder consistency. This is THE BEST foundation for oily complexions during the summer.

4. Julep Daylight Defense SPF 30
-It is always hard to find the right SPF for summer because they tend to be too emollient. They make my oily skin more oily and even cause me to break out. Luckily, this SPF is PERFECT for oily/combo skin. It doesn't feel heavy at all and still provides great protection!

5. Julep Daylight Defense Lip Balm
-I don't care much for SPF in lip balms but I added this to my favorites because I can't get enough of the flavor! It tastes JUST like chocolate after eat mints!! YUM

6. Black Eyeshadow!
-Using black eyeshadow was a bad idea in the past for me. I could never blend it right and it looked patchy and messy and dirty... but I have been practicing and getting the hang of it-- now I can't help but use black in every eye look lately!!

7. Bullet Blending Brush - Coastal Scents
-Using a small little bullet brush like this has made using black eyeshadow so much easier!

8. Broadway Nails Impress Manicure in Love Bites
-This is the second time I've used these types of nails and they lasted so much longer this time around!! It must have been the way I applied last time.. But these lasted a whole 8 days!! Even after dish washing, chores, bathing dogs, etc.

Happy start to July!!

Use up Those Products!!

I wanted to share with all of you. I know this happens to me A LOT!

I buy a product thinking I'll love it, but it doesn't work out that well and ends up being tossed to the back of a makeup drawer and never sees the light of day again!!

Instead, I've been trying to use up those kinds of products in one way or another so my money doesn't go to waste and this is what I've come up with for three particular products.

1. Garnier Skin Renew BB Cream in Medium/Deep. -- This was too moist for my oily skin and the shade oxidized horribly with my already reddish undertones.

2. Hard Candy Glamoflauge  Concealer in Medium -- This concealer is very thick and pasty, and though the color is Medium, it is still way too light for my complexion (Emphasis on WAY TOO LIGHT!)

3. CoverGirl Original Setting Powder in Translucent Honey -- I usually use this powder in the same color but in the Clean formula, not Original. Between the formulas, the color is way off. The clean formula is a light caramel shade while the Original formula is more of a tan bronze shade. I might be able to use as a bronzer, but I don't bronze my face too often.

I mixed the BB Cream and the concealer that made a nice match of my normal foundation with a just in between consistency! Though it was a little on the light side, that wasn't a problem because I used the darker powder to even out my complexion.

How do you make use of unwanted products??

Influenster Love VoxBox

HELLO!!

I did a video on my Influenster Love VoxBox. Some may not be familiar with the Influenster program. I explain it in depth in my video but I'll try to explain below with out getting complicated or confusing...

Influenster.com is a website.

You make a profile (name, photo, email, address, and nothing else)

You earn badges (fill out 2 minute surveys about products, like a quick review. You are allowed to pick which badges you want to unlock; for example, I have earned badges like: Youtuber, blogger, makeup lover, dog owner, etc.)

With those badges, you earn a box filled with goodies for you to review for your blog or channel!

And its all FREE!

But there is a catch; only the most active members get boxes (so unlock as many badges as you can!)

This VoxBox came with the following products:

-Ghirardelli Chocolate Bar ($2.99) ~ YUM!!! And, it came with a coupon to buy more!

-Stash Herbal Tea Sampler ($3.50) ~ 9 flavors, 18 tea bags, great for rainy days in April!

-Truvia Sweetener ($3.99 40ct) ~ An all natural sweetener that won't be on your conscious or your thighs! hehehe

-Kiss Nail Dress ($6.99) ~ Manicure stickers (like Sally Hansen), these last 10 days and come in sizes for finger tips and toes!

-Gillette Venus & Olay 5 blade razor ($10.99) ~ Perfect for getting goddess skin in time for spring and summer!

I hope you all take some time to check out Influenster.com and start earning VoxBoxes too!

I CUT OFF ALL MY LASHES!!

What a way to grab someone's attention, eh?? Sadly, this wasn't just something to get your attention, I did accidently cut my lashes off, but not all of them, thank God!

Hello Lovees! I am happy to bring you all this amusing post, it was highly requested and I hope it makes you laugh! :)

Some may remember, I have complained about this so much; but, I HATE the ELF lash curler! Every time I use it, it some how manages to cut my eyelashes! No, I did not pull them out on accident with the curler, nor did I pinch myself and pull my lashes out. I cannot understand why this keeps happening and I don't plan on investigating and losing more lashes!

Basically, this is what happend.
I'm getting ready for New Years and I have finished my makeup look for the night. All there is left for me to do is curl my lashes and apply mascara. I can't find my everyday, drugstore lash curler, so, unwillingly, I turn to my ELF one. Rubber in place, old mascara goop wiped away, I place it along my lash line and clamp down. And I hear it. That scary, easily recognized sound of hair being snipped. My heart is suddenly beating loudly in my ear as the panic sets in. "Oh no.. Oh my God, not again!". I pull the lash curler away and look closer in the mirror. Yup. In the center of my lashline, I have a bald spot. *le sigh*

You can imagine what happens next. I tossed the curler for good and whipped out the ol falsies and lash glue.
RED arrows: my bald spot, oh no!
BLUE arrow: My peely eye rash! (Post coming soon on that)

It took me 3 months to grow out my lashes the last time this happened. Only, last time I somehow managed to snip my entire lashline on both eyes! So, hopefully it won't take as long to grow out this time around.

Go ahead and have a laugh at my bald spot, its ok! I have to admit, it is so ridiculous that I even laughed at myself this time :)

What do you think? Have you had a similar accident happen to you before? I would love to hear it!
Also-- has anyone else had this happen with their ELF curler?

Love and Lipstick,
Monique

FOTD.. Something New!

Hey there Lovees! I had an email today regarding FOTD (Face of the Day) posts. One of my subbies, Stephanie (hope you don't mind me mentioning you!) said that I write tons of reviews but never show my face! She thought that I was already friendly and personable (you guys know I love tweeting and emailing you back!) but that it would be nice to see my face a little more; at least every once in a while. I thought it was just the funniest thing! But very sweet :)

I would love to try to these posts out, I cant make any promises, but I will try to do a post of that days makeup. If I don't have time to post one, well I hope you understand!

I hope this also answers a few other questions I recieved about OOTD and HOTD posts (outfit and hair of the day posts). I will try my best to alternate between hair, face, and outfit posts; although I can almost gaurantee that most of these will be FOTD.

Mostly because:
1) I'm not much of a fashionista
2) My hair is impeccably straight and stubborn

I hope to have answered everyone's emails! I was getting these same questions from a lot of you so I figured that answering in this post would be easier than answering every individual email. Thanks again everyone for your daily love and support!

Stay Lovely!

MIA: with a terrible cold!

Hey ladies!! I am so so sorry to have fallen behind on my posting and tweets lately. I was supposed to have covered my Coastal Scents haul and the Julep giveaway by now (Btw, my first box came in already, let me tell you girls: gorgeous!).

Unfortunately, I came down with a cold last week and thought I was getting over it; but somehow, its only gotten worse! I've been getting LOTS of rest, fluids, staying bundled up and all that, but I only feel worse than before :/

I guess I'll just have to give it a few more days. As soon as Im better, look forward to the giveaway and tons of hauls and reviews! (I may have gone a little overboard on the "Hope this makes me feel better" shopping.. everyone does that, right?..). Until then ladies,
Stay Lovely!
-Monique

PS
How do you get over your colds? Any family traditions/recipes? I'd love to try some new soups recipes!

Here's a few little Mexican supersitions I'll share, my grandmother has been yelling things like this at me all week!
***Don't try these at home! This is just for laughs***

-Don't walk around barefoot!
-Put Bapuru (Vixs vapor rub) on your chest, joints, and the soles of your feet, but don't take a shower the next day!! (Yeah, that one was hard for me)
-Here drink this tea! (it was yucky!)
-Put a spoonful of Vixs in your tea and drink it! (I told her I did it when her back was turned)
-Rub some Vix in your nostrils! (That one burned...)
-Dont eat jalepenos! They have vinegar!
-Dont eat anything with vinegar!
-Dont eat that avocado, its too fresh.
-Dont eat potatoes, they'll give you cough!
AND a bunch of other crazy things that don't make sense to me half the time!!
But my grandmother means well :)

Were you raised with any funny things like this? Let me know in the comments section, I'd love to hear them! After all, they say laughter is the best medicine! Stay lovely ladies :)

Be ONE LESS!

Knowing I am protected is a thing of BEAUTY
Hello Ladies! Today I don't have a post about a specific beauty product but I do want to talk about beauty; inner beauty to be exact.
A lot of women have a product they they feel completes their look. For some its their favorite lipstick, or just a finishing swipe of eyeliner. But I feel that there are natural components that make us beautiful without all the makeup.
For me, it is the beauty marks on my left cheek, and the slight bags under my eyes that never dissapear ( I get it from my daddy! :D). For my sister, it is her smile. And for many of you it could be something else, like your lashes, or naturally curly hair.
Everyone has natural beauty and part of it comes from being healthy. A healthy inside shines through to the outside!
Today I went to my doctor's office and recieved my Cervical Cancer Vaccination (the One Less shot). It is usually only required for girls up to ages 18.
I am 19 but I decided to still get the shot because Cervical Cancer runs in my family. My aunt and cousin had cervical cancer, and my great grandmother died of it.
I advise all women to get checked and to be vaccinated. Don't believe the rumors about this shot being so painful! I took Ibuprofin before my appointment, and the shot hurt no more than any other vaccine :)
So get over those fears and protect yourself from this! Do it for yourself, and for your (future) children. And while you're at it, get checked for breast cancer as well; it is Breast Cancer Awareness month! Beauty initially comes from within. Applying the makeup and product only enhances it. Let your inner beauty shine and remember to be One Less :)
-Stay Beautiful

Senior Portraits! And news on a Youtube beauty channel!

Hello everyone! My little sister, Jessica, is a senior in highschool this year and she took her senior portraits yesterday! So over the last weekend, I practiced different makeup looks on her and I wanted to share with everyone what she decided she liked best!

This is just a practice picture we took in our bathroom, I had her sit on the toilet! Lol

Here is a close up of her face makeup, amazing what a difference lighting can make!

And a closeup of her eye makeup. I wanted a neutral look but not muted colors. I added vibrancy to a natural eye.

I am working on a Youtube beauty channel at the moment; I'm hoping to launch it sometime this month, and one of my first videos will be a tutorial and tips for senior portraits (or any other type of portraits too!). I will go over this exact look, go over tips for poses that work for your face and body type, and some tips on what to wear for your shape!

If you are curious to see the final product and look from Jessica's shoot, I will post some of the pictures in the next week or so!
Stay beautiful!

Another Sephora Disaster!

Hello again everyone! Happy fall semester! I am really excited because there will be a ton of reviews flooding this page in the upcoming weeks. For today, I want to share another tragic incident with Sephora. I have no clue why this keeps happening to me, everyone has had only good experiences with them but I guess I pulled the short end on this company. I ordered two palettes from them (debuting in a review soon) and was shocked at what arrived at my door step. This box was so beat up I was afraid to open it. Its almost as if they did it on purpose because of my last complaint! The box says "FRAGILE" on it people, come on. Ugh! It must have been tossed from truck to truck. Becareful when ordering from Sephora folks!

Luckily, nothing was broken, but some product had melted again. In one of the palettes, all of the glosses and eyeliners had melted, fortunately none of the product spilled over and into any of the other pots. I had to refridgerate the palettes for about an hour just to solidify the melted product.
This picture was taken after an hour of sitting in my fridge and, as you can see, some of it is still melted (the eyeliners). I wasnt able to get these back to their normal consistency, they still look pretty much like this.
I recommend buying from their store instead of online!
