Hi Everyone!

Hello loveelies! I am still photographing lashes and such for all my mascaras!! But the mascara reviews will be posted soon!!

In the meantime..
-Dont forget to enter my GIVEAWAY!!
-I will be posting FOTDs and NOTDs like CRAZY!! So keep an eye out for those! :)
-ALSO...

I made a Youtube channel to accompany this blog, but I never posted any videos for the following reasons:
-Didn't have a super amazing quality camera
-Self conscious... 0.o
-Didn't have a designated area to film (I don't have my own room, or even a vanity!)

Basically, I have limited resources and I thought "how can I possibly compete with all the other beauty girls on YouTube??!

But, recently I watched a video by Kandee Johnson (I encourage everyone to watch it! Very inspiring) and I figured, everyone starts somewhere. All those amazing gurus and beauty girls did not start with high quality videos, everyone learns as they go, and perfects their style the more they make videos.

That being said, Im going to be getting my own room soon!! (well, hopefully. I'm still trying to convince my brother to give me his, hehe)

So I figured, Im going to start making videos with whatever limited resources I do have. Im a little camera shy, so I'll start pretty simple and easy, most likely TAG videos and work my way from there, Wish me luck!! :D

Thats it everyone, I just wanted to get the word out, I'm going to make videos!!
If you have any tipa for me, or encouragement, please leave me a comment! It makes me happy and I love making friends :) Thanks everyone!

MASCARA HAUL

Hello loveelies :)

Before I begin the review for all these mascaras; let me expalin.

I'm sure that EVERYONE goes through makeup phases (this cant be only me!!), right?

For a few weeks you are in love with eyelashes and want to buy all kinds of new ones. Then it changes to blush, and you find yourself lusting after all kinds textures and colors for your cheeks.

I do this ALL the time, and it's kind of how I build my collection (I get obsessive and start buying like crazy!).

I have gone through SO many beauty phases these past few months and mascara was one of them. For a while I was a "one mascara only" girl. I used the same mascara over and over, and repurchased once it dried up. But I have been wanting to experiment with new formulas, brushes, and finishes.

So these upcoming weeks will mostly be mascara reviews! I hope you all enjoy!

P.S.
Does this ever happen to you? (Beauty obsessions)
If so, I'd love to hear your obsessive hauls!

Products I Hate! Revlon Misses

I usually love Revlon products but lately I have picked up a few things that I just hated, even though I wanted them so badly to work!

The products I picked up were from local drugstores, which I hate! Becuase I didnt like them and couldn't get my money back (I was passed the return policy because I like to test things for a few weeks before I review it!)

Im not sure if I picked up a bad batch, or if these were just past their expiration date (which would explain the clearance) but they were not worth my purchase.

I was dissapointed in:

-Revlon Colorstay Mineral Bronzer
-Revlon Bronzer
and
-Revlon Matte Powder Blush

Revlon dissapoints in these three products
The reason I didn't like these is becuase...

-They were super chalky
-They had slim-to-no color payoff
-They did not last

I do have swatches for you, but if they look the least bit decent it is becuase I had to rub my finger on these for a good 30-45 seconds to get some product on them. This may spund a little dramatic, but I promise, I am not exagerating!

I really wish these had worked better, and for the original price, I can't justify taking the risk on repurchasing in the hopes of having a better batch.

Left: Swatches with flash
Right: Swatches without flash, notice the chalky-chunks

Please let me know if you have purchased any of these and if they worked better for you. I did really want them to work for me, and if they worked better for you, I will go repurchase these for original price. Thanks again everyone!

January Julep Maven Box

Here is my January Maven Box!

Available at: Julep

Box: Bombshell

Price: $20

Overall Box Value: $62

This month's reduced sized box
Back to black!

Packaging:
This month's packaging was similar to December's Holiday packaging.
The boxes are no longer gift wrapped, I think they are leaving the gift bags for special orders; like skipping the box for yourself and sending it to a friend for that month.
The boxes are not shoe box sized this month either, they are much smaller but still packed with great goodies!
It seems these will be wrapped in a plastic bag wrapped in ribbon and confetti from here on out, which is just fine with me!

I love opening these every month!

Items Recieved:
This month we were given 2 polishes and a scrub, along with a little extra sample, AND we were given a choice of a free nail color!

Although, I am a bit confused. See, in December we were sent an email asking us to choose a free complimentary nail color of our choice in reward for being one of the first Julep Mavens. I chose a yellow shade.

But in my box, instead of the yellow polish, I found a nail therapy along with a coupon that read, "Our popular nail color Gayle is out of stock until February, until then please enjoy this nail therapy along with this coupon code for a free polish at checkout!".

So I'm guessing that I can recieve the polish AND the nail therapy? Hm I do not know, but I am OK with freebies!

Pomegranite Body Scrub
3 Polishes

My box included--
-Nail Therapy $16 (freebie)
-Pomegranite Body Scrub $18
-Carrie nail color, a baby soft pink $14
-Megan, aquamarine blue, NEW from the Resort Collection $14
-Sample of Julep's nail polish remover wipes

Liked:
I Loved everything in my box this month! I can honestly say I am NEVER dissappointed with Julep. They have quality products and amazing customer service. I'm so glad I found this subscription service!

Disliked: I only wish I could have more boxes!

What did everyone else get? Did you enjoy your box this month?? I know our lucky giveaway winner did!

Monique

I CUT OFF ALL MY LASHES!!

What a way to grab someone's attention, eh?? Sadly, this wasn't just something to get your attention, I did accidently cut my lashes off, but not all of them, thank God!

Hello Lovees! I am happy to bring you all this amusing post, it was highly requested and I hope it makes you laugh! :)

Some may remember, I have complained about this so much; but, I HATE the ELF lash curler! Every time I use it, it some how manages to cut my eyelashes! No, I did not pull them out on accident with the curler, nor did I pinch myself and pull my lashes out. I cannot understand why this keeps happening and I don't plan on investigating and losing more lashes!

Basically, this is what happend.
I'm getting ready for New Years and I have finished my makeup look for the night. All there is left for me to do is curl my lashes and apply mascara. I can't find my everyday, drugstore lash curler, so, unwillingly, I turn to my ELF one. Rubber in place, old mascara goop wiped away, I place it along my lash line and clamp down. And I hear it. That scary, easily recognized sound of hair being snipped. My heart is suddenly beating loudly in my ear as the panic sets in. "Oh no.. Oh my God, not again!". I pull the lash curler away and look closer in the mirror. Yup. In the center of my lashline, I have a bald spot. *le sigh*

You can imagine what happens next. I tossed the curler for good and whipped out the ol falsies and lash glue.
RED arrows: my bald spot, oh no!
BLUE arrow: My peely eye rash! (Post coming soon on that)

It took me 3 months to grow out my lashes the last time this happened. Only, last time I somehow managed to snip my entire lashline on both eyes! So, hopefully it won't take as long to grow out this time around.

Go ahead and have a laugh at my bald spot, its ok! I have to admit, it is so ridiculous that I even laughed at myself this time :)

What do you think? Have you had a similar accident happen to you before? I would love to hear it!
Also-- has anyone else had this happen with their ELF curler?

Love and Lipstick,
Monique

I got my earrings from a little shanty swapmeet/flea market in Riverside~ $1!

I had a few mishaps during my evening's preperation!

As I was shaving, I slipped and somehow manages to slice my nail off my finger! OUCH. So Mani Mondays will be postponed. Sorry :/

And, I also made such a horrible mistake! Some of you may remember my run in last May with the ELF lash curler, the rubber fell out and sliced off my lashes! They grew back in about 3 months.

Well last night I could not, for the life of me, find my lash curler and had to turn to my ELF one... big mistake. Guess what, it sliced my lashes off AGAIN!   So here goes another 3 months of lash serum and falsies to fill in my baldie lashline!

Should I post photos? hmm.. lol

How was everyone's festivities?! I hope everyone has a blessed new year!

Love and Lipstick,
Monique
